James Cornwell
James Cornwell’s research focuses on decision-making, with a particular emphasis on how beliefs, cultural affiliations, and morality influence those decisions. His work centers on identifying the motivations and processes underlying ethical choices, and how they function with respect to a socially constructed moral universe. Additionally, he is interested in how religious beliefs influence group decision-making about the environment, and under what circumstances individuals are likely to engage in sacrificial altruistic behavior. James is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Leadership at the United States Military Academy. He is a previous postdoctoral research scientist at CRED and received a PhD in Psychology from Columbia University in July 2014.
