Hale Forster is a Ph.D. student in the Psychology department at Columbia University, where she also conducts research in the Center for Decision Sciences. Her research focuses on judgment and decision making, with an emphasis on understanding and encouraging sustainable energy use decisions. She is currently exploring the intersection of habits and choice architecture: specifically, how experience with choice architecture over time can contribute to habit change. She is also working on projects to develop new ways to incorporate judgment and decision making principles in energy efficiency program and policy design. Prior to joining Columbia, Hale was a Senior Consultant at a firm specializing in energy efficiency market research and process evaluation for utilities. She has a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Oregon.
