A delegation from CRED attended the workshop entitled “Predicting the Climate of Coming Decades” at the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science. The event was also sponsored by NOAA, World Climate Research Programme- CLIVAR, and the Leonard and Jayne Abess Center for Ecosystem Science and Policy at the University of Miami. CRED researchers in attendance included Sabine Marx, David Krantz, Howard Kunreuther, and Daniel Osgood.
David Krantz presented on the topic of Temporal Horizons in Decision Making. Howard Kunreuther gave a presentation entitled “At War with the Weather and Other Extreme Events”. Daniel Osgood’s presentation was entitled “Trends, Decadal Processes, and Rainfall Insurance for Farmers in Ethiopia,” on the subject of a joint research project between CRED and The International Research Institute for Climate & Society.
