Biography
Dr. Taddei conducts research on the communication between climate scientists and meteorological institutions and local populations in Latin America. He is interested in how local populations understand and relate to the environment, and how economic development and modernization affect perceptions and behaviors associated to climate and weather.

Dr. Taddei received his Ph.D. in Anthropology from Columbia University in spring 2005. He is an assistant professor at the School of Communication, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Brazil. He is also an affiliated researcher at the Comitas Institute for Anthropological Study (CIFAS), and collaborates in many different research efforts at the International Research Institute for Climate and Society (IRI) and Center for Research on Environmental Decisions (CRED).

Prior to joining UFRJ, he was a visiting professor at Yale, and taught also at Columbia, the City University of New York, and the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil, and conducted anthropological research at the Research Institute for the Study of Man, in New York.
